Adrak Pyaj ki Sabji

Adrak Pyaj ki Sabji

Adrak Pyaj ki sabji

On a chilli winter evening, when (sometimes 😉) one is at a loss as to what to conjure up for dinner… My Ma has a favourite to pick … Adrak Pyaj ki sabji (dry).

It doesn’t take too long to make. About 15 minutes. Goes wonderfully great with thin, crisp, flaky parathas. And if one braves a strong cup of good masala tea as an accompanying drink, it is nothing short of heaven. The combination warms up your insides & the chill goes for a toss.

Method

Heat the ghee. Add jeera, stir till it crackles. Add the mirch powder. Add the diced onion & ginger, alongwith the salt. Cook on sim in a covered pot, stirring occasionaly, till you see the onions turning colour. (the onions should be allowed to just about change colour. No more).

Take off the stove. And bring in the drums 😊😊… Enjoy…

What could be a more simple or faster dish to conjure up ?
